The Friday Night Art Walk will kick off for the season on Friday May 4th!
Meet local artists and see the amazing selection of artwork set up on the Museum’s lawn beginning at 4:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public! If you are interested in displaying your artwork, contact the Powell Museum at (928) 645-9496 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Sally Foti is the Museum’s Artist of the Month for May.
Native Californian, gone ‘crazy’ for Glen Canyon, Sally Foti has been visiting and painting the Page-Lake Powell area since 1985. She now lives in Greenehaven, Arizona, and spends much of her time hiking canyon country surrounding the Page-Lake Powell area and painting. Recently, Sally has been working on paintings using a unique style of pointalism. The new series of her “dot” paintings will be on display, and available for sale, for her Artist of the Month show in May.
“Since my first visit here I knew I had found my favorite place on Earth. I returned, year after year, exploring, taking photographs and drawing the scenery, taking in as much as I could. It was never enough. So, when I had the chance to live here, I grabbed it. Although I have only lived in the area a short time, I have a natural sense of belonging, it is my dream, my home. The beauty of the area, with its color, texture, culture and history are a never ending inspiration for my art.”
Join us for an artist reception and exhibit opening on Friday May 4th from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Powell Museum. The event is free to the public and refreshments will be served.
Hope to see you there!
