Event volunteers help us plan and implement evening and fundraising programs. Excellent customer service and communication skills are required, along with the ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 10 pounds, and handle money. The time commitment varies on weekday evenings and on weekends.
Staff aides help with mailings, special projects, and other clerical needs, as well as with collection maintenance and research. The position requires attention to detail, good manual dexterity, and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Visitor service volunteers ensure that visitors have a positive, enjoyable experience. They greet and interact with our patrons. This position requires a warm, professional presence and customer service orientation as well as the ability to stand for extended periods. Visitor service volunteers assist in various front desk operations — booking tours, running the cash register, working in the bookstore, and providing general visitor information. You may work weekdays and weekends, including “on call” shifts, between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm.
